CBOT corn, soybean futures fall as U.S. crop weather improves

by admin

June 8, according to reports, U.S. corn futures fell nearly 1% in early Asian trading on Thursday, while soybean futures fell for the first time in three sessions, as rain forecasts in the U.S. Midwest eased concerns about dry weather.

China’s soybean imports hit 12 million tonnes in May, up 24 percent from a year earlier, data from China’s General Administration of Customs showed, with losses in the soybean market limited due to strong Chinese demand. Corn and soybean basis offers by barge to export terminals in the U.S. Gulf were mixed on Wednesday, with tight spot supplies supporting near-month offers but sluggish export sales weighing on far-month offers, traders said.
