U.S. stock index futures dropped in pre-market trading on Tuesday as investors remained cautious ahead of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s testimony on the semiannual monetary policy report before the Senate Banking Committee. Powell’s testimony is set to begin later today and continue into Wednesday.
Pre-Market Trading Performance
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell by 0.20%, or 90 points, reaching 44,490.00 points.
S&P 500 futures declined by 0.31%, or 19.75 points, standing at 6,070.00 points.
Nasdaq 100 futures, which are heavily influenced by technology stocks, dropped by 0.47%, or 102.50 points, to 21,744.00 points.
Investors are closely monitoring Powell’s comments for clues on the Federal Reserve’s stance on interest rates and inflation.
