Indonesia mulls diverting palm oil exports to Africa

On June 26, according to media reports, Indonesian Maritime Affairs and Investment Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that as European countries implement the European Union’s No Deforestation Regulations (EUDR), the government is considering gradually shifting Indonesia’s palm oil exports to Africa.

During a press conference on improving governance of the country’s palm oil industry on Friday, June 23, the minister said the volume of palm oil exported from Indonesia to Europe could reach 3.3 million tonnes per year.
