Speculative funds increased their net long positions in soybean futures for the third consecutive week

On June 25, CFTC data showed that last week, funds increased their net long positions in the CBOT soybean futures market for the third consecutive week, after reducing their holdings for six consecutive weeks.

As of June 20, 2023, speculative funds held a net long position of 76,950 lots in CBOT soybean futures and options, an increase of 29,068 lots from a week ago, and a net purchase of 33,901 lots in the previous week.

Funds held 112,152 long soybean futures and options contracts, compared with 98,056 contracts a week ago; they held 35,202 empty contracts, compared with 50,174 contracts a week ago.

The open position of soybean futures and options was 875,106 lots, compared with 845,019 lots a week ago.
