Vietnam’s rubber exports decline YoY from January to April, while exports to China increase

On May 24th, it was reported that from January to April this year, Vietnam exported approximately 469,632 tons of rubber, with an export value of 653.22 million US dollars. Compared with the same period last year, the export volume decreased by 3.2% and the export value decreased by 23.7%. According to data released by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in April, Vietnam exported about 87,749 tons of rubber, with an export value of 121.9 million US dollars, a decrease of 24.3% and 25.7% respectively compared to March. In April of this year, China became the largest consumer of Vietnamese rubber products. Exports to the Chinese market accounted for 73.16% of the country’s total rubber exports, with an export volume of 64,201 tons and an export value of 87.45 million US dollars. The export volume decreased by 40.6% YoY, and the export value decreased by 10.7% YoY. From January to April, Vietnam exported 356,818 tons of rubber to China, with an export value of 484.46 million US dollars. The export volume increased by 9.5%, but the export value decreased by 13.8% YoY.
